ReSound For Africa

This already dramatic scenario is especially alarming in the developing and underdeveloped countries. Like many other African countries, Kenya, though it is the strongest economy in East Africa, is affected by a high corruption rate, deep inequality in the domestic distribution of wealth, poor access to healthcare systems, and high AIDS incidence. Here, too, as in the rest of the African continent, the problem of hearing loss becomes worrying because children and adults are condemned to total isolation from the community.
More than ever, it is essential to concentrate energies to fight deafness in children and adults, thus allowing them to escape isolation, thanks to the fitting of hearing aids. That is why ReSound together with the association World Medical Aid has decided to create ReSound For Africa, a humanitarian project to carry out training and provide diagnostic equipment and hearing aids for the Chaaria Mission Hospital in Kenya.
ReSound and World Medical Aid share the same mission: helping hearing-impaired children and adults to hear better, thus escaping the isolation they are condemned to, and integrating into their community.
At ReSound For Africa, together with World Medical Aid, we believe that it may take some time to see changes, but when several people donate their time and energy to well-structured projects with long-term goals, then every individual’s help becomes important.
