World Medical Aid in collaboration with ReSound
World Medical Aid’s mission is to act where the need arises, employing all the means available, and with all professionals working on a voluntary basis. In May 2018, World Medical Aid opened an ear-nose-and-throat clinic within the Chaaria Mission Hospital, and in September the ReSound For Africa project was launched with its first mission. Mainly involving hearing healthcare professionals, it furnished two audiology rooms and a hearing-aid fitting room.
During this mission, over 150 patients were examined, and 50 of them were fitted with Gn Resound hearing aids. Local personnel was trained, and showed an excellent response, acquiring the basics of audiometric tests and hearing-aid fitting.
